Malaysia has always given its full support and commitment to championing the needs of persons with disabilities, as is evident through its support for the Proclamation on the Full Participation and Equality of People with Disabilities in the Asian and Pacific Region. The Proclamation was signed by our Prime Minister on 16th May, 19994. On behalf of the Steering Committee, I would like to welcome all participants to Campaign'99 which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 27th November to 3rd December, 1999.
